In Baltistan Valley, this wild thyme is served after nearly every meal — not as a remedy, but as a habit, the way some households pour coffee. Tumburu is Chumik’s tea for daytime clarity and easy breathing.
What Tumburu Is
Tumburu (Thymus serpyllum) is wild Himalayan thyme, hand-picked in Baltistan Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan. Unlike common garden thyme, this grows wild at altitude — hardier, more aromatic, and untouched by pesticides or farming.
Benefits
- Respiratory relief — traditionally used to ease breathing, especially in cold weather
- Stress relief — a calming daytime ritual
- Immune support— antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic and antiviral actions.
- Digestive support — relaxes gut muscles to ease cramping and indigestion, and fights harmful gut bacteria and fungi.
- Caffeine-free, rich in plant antioxidants — a warm Himalayan cup you can enjoy morning or night
- Circulation support — brewed after meals as part of daily Himalayan tradition
Traditionally used to ease breathing, calm stress, and support circulation.
How to Brew
- Bring water to a simmer
- Add 1 teaspoon of Tumburu, simmer 3-5 minutes
- Strain and drink after meals, or any time you need a clear head
Why Tumburu, Not Just “Herbal Tea”
Tumburu isn’t a garden-variety thyme blend — it’s wild-harvested at altitude from one named valley, following a tradition that’s been part of daily life in Gilgit Baltistan for generations, not a recent wellness trend.
